250 CEOs Issue Global Human Rights Statement

(New York, 10 December 2008) – Today, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, nearly 250 chief executives participating in the UN Global Compact issued a statement renewing their commitment to respect and support human rights within their sphere of influence, and calling on governments to meet their human rights obligations. The signed CEO statement was published in all editions of today’s Financial Times.

In addition to the global CEO Statement, Global Compact participants in a number of countries around the world have joined together to publish similar statements in newspapers with national circulation.
