Consultation Process on Academic Network Launched

(New York - 10 March 2006) The Global Compact office has initiated a broad consultation process with academic partners around the world with the aim to create a robust and dynamic Global Compact Academic Network. A document that was sent today from Executive Head Georg Kell to more than 240 friends of the Global Compact in the academic world outlines a new framework for the engagement and the governance of academic institutions within the initiative. Academic partners are encouraged to actively participate in this consultation process, which will last until 30 June 2006. Based on the suggestions, ideas and proposals, the revised document will become an explicit policy for the engagement of academic institutions in the Global Compact.
