President Fox Pledges Mexico's Commitment to Global Compact

Mexico City, 9 June – The Global Compact was launched in Mexico today, with more than 200 representatives of business, government, civil society and the UN system attending the official ceremony at Mexico City’s Polyforum Siqueiros. Addressing the participants, President Vicente Fox praised Mexican businesses for their support of “this great cause” and announced the commitment of his administration and the country’s entire public sector to the 10 Global Compact principles.

120 Mexican businesses joined the Global Compact at the launch, but the number rose to nearly 200 companies in the course of the day. [More details to follow soon]
