Women's Empowerment Principles

The sixth annual Women’s Equality Principles (WEPs) event, Gender Equality and the Global Jobs Challenge, will spotlight business strategies, experience and challenges on increasing and enhancing job opportunities for women and expanding access to decent jobs. With more than 600 CEO signatories worldwide, the WEPs, a joint initiative of UN Women and the Global Compact, provide a roadmap for companies to advance and empower women in the workplace, marketplace and community. This event at United Nations Headquarters brings together the experience of leading stakeholders from business, Government and civil society to strengthen local and global solutions.

Children's Rights and Business Principles

The next annual stock-taking event of the Children's Rights and Business Principles will be hosted by UN Global Compact, UNICEF and Save the Children. The event will invite business and other key stakeholders from the region and internally to take stock of how the Principles have been operationalized to advance company efforts to respect and support children's rights in the workplace, marketplace, community and environment and to identify areas for improvement.

The UN System Private Sector Focal Points (PSFP) Meeting and the Annual Local Networks Forum (ALNF) will be convened alongside one another reflecting the Global Compact’s goal to better engage the private sector in taking action in pursuit of UN goals and issues at the country level. Held each year, the PSFP Meeting aims to enhance communication, strengthen learning and improve coordination among UN staff working with the private sector, and the ALNF brings together representatives from Local Networks and companies to share their experiences and network.

United Nations Private Sector Forum

Since 2008, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has convened the UN Private Sector Forum during the opening session of the General Assembly in order to bring the voice of the private sector to inter-governmental negotiations on key topics. The UN Private Sector Forum will convene approximately 300 Heads of State and Government, Chief Executive Officers, Civil Society Leaders and Heads of UN Agencies during the UN Climate Summit. Participation is by invitation only.

Caring for Climate Business Forum

The annual Caring for Climate Business Forum during COP20/CMP10. Meeting of the Global Compact Working Group on the 10th Principle against Corruption
