In Morocco, the International Labour Organization (ILO) is currently implementing the project "Sustainable Development through the Global Compact", funded by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. As part of the project, the Global Compact was officially launched on 21 April 2006 in Casablanca during an event The launch was attended by some 90 representatives of Moroccan enterprises, organizations and institutions.

Organizations developing the GC Network in Morocco:

The Steering Committee of the Moroccan Global Compact network is composed by the following institutions and organizations:

  • Ministry of Industry, Trade and Economy Upgrading
  • Ministry of Territory Development, Water and Environment
  • Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM)
  • Federation of Moroccan Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Services (FCMCIS)
  • Moroccan Labour Union (UMT)
  • Democratic Labour Confederation (CDT)
  • General Union of Moroccan's Workers (UGTM)
  • Democratic Labour federation (FDT)
  • United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)
  • United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO)
  • the Italian Embassy in Morocco 
  • the Italian Commercial Delegation (ICE) in Morocco
