A first outreach event was held in 2002 with 75 participants coming from the private sector, civil society and government, as well as the ILO, OHCHR, UNDP UNEP and UNIDO. The participants agreed on the composition of a national GC committee, led by GICAM (Groupement Inter-professionnels du Cameroun) one of the most important private sector groups was also set-up.
