Regional Meeting for GC Network Contact Persons in Africa, 23-24 January 2008 - Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

The 2008 African Private Sector Forum jointly organised by the African Union Commission and the Global Compact in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia provided the ideal opportunity to convene the first Regional Meeting for GC Network Contact Persons in Africa. The meeting, which took place immediately after the Forum brought together participants from 14 countries to discuss the key issues and challenges faced by Network Contact Persons in Africa. Participants were presented with an overview on the current status of Networks in the region and updated on the latest tools, resources and engagement opportunities available to Global Compact participants.  Most importantly however, the meeting acted as a valuable platform for learning and exchange of best practice among Network Contact Persons.
