The Climate Change and Development Working Group is composed of senior corporate executives within the Caring for Climate signatories as well as representatives from the UN Global Compact, UN Environment Programme (UNEP), Oxfam and the World Resources Institute (WRI). The working group aims to enhance the understanding of ways in which businesses can find strategic solutions throughout their operations and value chains to address the impacts of climate change on development.
As the first outcome of the working group a publication – Adapting for a Green Economy – was released. The report aims to address the efforts leading up to UN Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20) in June 2012, as well as related activities, processes, commitments and partnerships.
For more information on the working group and for upcoming engagement opportunities, please send an email to climateadaptation@unglobalcompact.org.
The Low-Carbon Leaders Project (LCLP) is an open source, multi-media platform aimed at capturing and sharing transformative low-carbon solutions. LCLP has issued twelve illustrative cases and toolkits for calculating the impacts of energy efficient solutions; additionally LCLP has collected 300 examples of transformative solutions through its web platform.
LCLP welcomes Caring for Climate signatories to assess the 300 transformative low-carbon solutions, and provide their feedback. For more information and to access the mobile application to rate these solutions, please visit the LCLP website.
