Senior Managers Implementation Workshop

The first Global Compact Implementation Workshop for Senior Managers was held in Turin, Italy, on 26-29 November 2007. The four-day workshop, co-facilitated by the United Nations System Staff College and the Global Compact Office, marks the first time that the four UN agencies responsible for the main issue areas of the Global Compact have worked together on an integrated training program. Specialists from the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), the International Labour Organization (ILO), the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) trained senior managers from Global Compact signatories on critical issues around human rights, labour standards, the environment and anti-corruption and the implementation of appropriate policies in these areas.

The workshop provided a comprehensive overview of the Global Compact Principles and their scope for implementation and integration in business strategy, operations and communications.
