Use of the UN Global Compact logos in Communications on Progress

Companies are encouraged to use the Global Compact logo in their communication on progress (COPs), to increase the visibility and impact of their efforts to promote and integrate the Global Compact principles.

Our policy allows participants and other stakeholders to use the Global Compact logo in the context of activities promoting the Global Compact principles (see Integrity Measures). Below, we provide guidelines on how the logo should be used in a COP:

Paper-based (including pdf) COPs

The logo can be used on the cover only if the document is comprised entirely of the COP (see Self-Contained COP Model). See CCU’s COP for an example.

If the COP is integrated into a broader document, such as a financial or sustainability report (see Integrated COP Model), the logo should be used only on the indices and pages that directly address the implementation of the principles. See BP’s COP for an example.

Web-based COP

Logos can be used for webpages that directly address the implementation of the principles. See Pfizer's COP for an example.

Permission to use the logo must be sought in advance in writing (letter, fax or e-mail) from the Global Compact Office, United Nations, New York, NY 10017; globalcompact@un.org  or Fax: +1-212-963-1207.
