COP Templates

Some Global Compact Local Networks and other organizations have created COP templates (see list below) with the aim to assist companies that are new in the field of reporting. Please note that template-based COPs must meet the minimum requirements as defined in the COP policy . For further assistance on specific templates, please contact the Local Networks or organization that produced it.

Argentinean Template

This template was designed in Argentina and has been used extensively throughout the network. It is a simple template providing a broad approach to Communicating Progress. Only available in Spanish.

Brazilian Template

This template was designed by the consultancy firm Visão Sustentável (São Paulo, Brazil) in consultation with the Global Compact, as part of the development of Grupo Pão de Açúcar’s 2005 Communication on Progress. The template and guidance are available in English and Portuguese and are made freely available to all Global Compact participants.

Bulgarian Template

Designed by UNDP Bulgaria and the local Global Compact participants this template and the accompanying guidance document are useful in helping to deepen the understanding and implementation of the principles.

GRI Template

The “Let’s Report!” template was created by the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) in order to offer an easy way for organizations to prepare a basic GRI sustainability report. The template is available for free in different languages including Chinese, English, French and Spanish on the GRI website. Please note that in order to be accepted as a COP, a 'statement of continued support for the Global Compact' must be added to the template-based report.

Progress and Value Workshop Template

This template has been developed together with several local networks and the participants of various “Progress and Value” workshops. The template is especially useful for companies that do not have much experience in sustainability reporting. The document contains guidance and examples as well as a principle-by-principle template.

South African Templates

The three templates below have been developed by the South African network. Template A is a template for beginners that have not yet drafted any kind of sustainability or annual report. Template B is an add-on for companies that have drafted a sustainability or annual report using GRI indicators but have not integrated an overview on where to find information on the GC principles within that report. Template C is an easy-to-use table for companies that have drafted a sustainability or annual report, NOT using the GRI indicators, without integrating an overview on the company's progress with regards to the GC's principles.

Spanish Template

The Spanish Network has developed a template with a comprehensive series of indicators. The template is used widely throughout Spain. COPs based on the template can be found on the website of the Spanish Network.

UK Template

This template has been developed by the Global Compact country network in the United Kingdom (UK). The template is based on Global Compact performance model and provides a simply guide to implementing the principles, based on commitment, systems, action and indicators.

Ukrainian COP Guide and Template

The COP guidance and template document has been developed by the Global Compact country network in Ukraine. It contains a short introduction to the COP, a simple template to prepare a COP, and information on how to post a COP on the Global Compact website.
