Fourth COP Workshop - Meeting Stakeholder Expectations
Palais des Nations, Geneva, 3 - 4 April 2008
The UN Global Compact Office organized its fourth annual Communication on Progress (COP)
workshop at the Palais des Nations in Geneva. The workshop focused on the topic "Meeting
Stakeholder Expectations" and brought together 50+ representatives from UN Global Compact
companies, as well as stakeholders from the financial community, civil society, academia and the
United Nations. The workshop was opened by Sir Mark Moody-Stuart, member of the UN Global Compact
Board, and moderated by Oliver Johner, COP Analyst at the UN Global Compact Office.
The fourth COP Workshop focused on several important topics: better
understanding the needs, expectations and roles of different stakeholder groups; taking stock of
current emerging best practices and available tools in meeting these expectations; and shaping a
shared vision for good reporting which leads the way for future developments. The two day
workshop consisted of presentations, discussions and a breakout session.
